The PE delegation will fly to the USA to talk about duties. Among the delegates of MEPs KO


MEPs are to stay in Washington from Wednesday to Friday. The visit will take place in the context of the recent announcement by the US President Donald Trump, new duties for goods also from partner countries, including the European Union.

In the American capital, a delegation chaired by the Italian MEP Brando Benifei (S&D) will meet with members of the Commission of the House of Representatives dealing with competition in trade between the USA and China and with the new management of the Foreign Affairs Committee of this Chamber.
The European Parliament announced that discussions will focus on recent events in Europe, especially in the context of the ongoing Russia war against Ukraine, as well as on bilateral trade, EU-Nato cooperation, the future of transatlantic relations and relations with China.
On Thursday and Friday, MEPs will meet with representatives of the US Department of State, as well as Think Tanków experts.

In addition to MEP Benifei, the delegation will consist of the Vice -President of Pe Sophie Wilmes (Renew Europe, Belgium), head of foreign committee David Mcallister (European People's Party, Germany), Chairman of the Foreign Trade Commission Bernd Lange (Socialists & Democrats, Germany) and a permanent reporter of the US Foreign Affairs Commission Szczerby (European People's Party, KO).
