Before flying to Washington, where he should meet with senior members of the US Congress and the special representative of the American President Donald Trump on Ukraine, Keito Kelllog, Koval emphasized that peace negotiations in Ukraine should not lead to the recognition of the territorial claims of the country's aggressor country.
Legal recognition of the Crimea, Donbass and other parts of Ukraine with Russian territories will allow illegitimate Russian President Vladimir Putin to expand “imperial Russia.” Koval warned that “it would be terrible.”
He noted that such a solution can become a red line for both Poland and the countries of Central Europe.
Koval recalled that after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russia recognized Ukraine with all its borders, in particular, with Crimea and Donbass, and this is the basis of international law.
At the same time, in his opinion, Trump still will not allow Russia to control the Ukrainian territory of de jure and recognizes a constant threat from Putin.
Koval also believes that the head of the White House will not deprive American companies with the opportunity to invest in the post -war restoration of Ukraine, abandoning security guarantees that Kyiv and its European allies are striving for.
