US billionaire Elon Musk, who was appointed by Donald Trump to lead the Department for Government Efficiency (Doge), seems to be against the aggressive commercial war triggered by the White House leader and pleads against customs duties.
Elon Musk said on Saturday that “Europe and the United States should move on to a zero customs duty, actually creating an area of free exchange between Europe and North America. Also, more freedom for people to circulate between Europe and North America. If they want to work in Europe or work in America, it should be allowed to this.”

Musk, Trump's adviser who endeavored to eliminate the waste from the American public spending, spoke by video connection to a Congress in Florence of the right -wing Italian Party, according to Reuters.
According to Trump's plans announced on Wednesday, Italy, which has a great commercial surplus with the United States, will be subjected to a 20 % customs duty with other countries in the European Union.
Now, Elon Musk has distributed on X a video, posted by another user, praising the benefits of free markets and complex supply chains, notes Sky News.
Using the example of a pencil, American economist Milton Friedman, who died almost 20 years ago, explained how different parts of the world contributed to creating the writing utensil.

This is the “magic of the price system,” he added, and “therefore the free market operation is so essential.”
