A Jordanian killed two Israeli soldiers on Thursday at the Allenby border crossing point, between the occupied Westord and Jordan, said Israeli paramedics, the army and the Foreign Ministry, AFP reported.

Jordan indicated that the attack attacker is an Jordan driver who was driving a truck with humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. The Israeli army said it was “neutralized”.

“Today, an Jordanian who had to drive a truck carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza killed two Israeli to the Border Crossing Point,” the Israeli Foreign Ministry announced on the X platform.

The victims are two men, aged 20 and 60, according to Magen David Adom, the Israeli equivalent of the Red Cross, who said that the two were shot and died from wounds.

The Iordanian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the authorities have launched an investigation and identified the suspect as Abdel Mutaleb al-Qaisi, 57, “a civilian who worked for three months as a driver to deliver aid in Gaza”.

Jordan has condemned the attack, calling it “a threat to the interests of the kingdom and its ability to transport humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.”

The border crossing point is also known as King Hussein's bridge. It is half the distance between Amman and Jerusalem, north of the Dead Sea.

A similar attack took place in September 2024 when three Israeli civilians were killed with firearms by a truck driver.
