Russian sensors in British waters. They spyed NATO boats

Russian devices were thrown to the British coast by sea waves, which enabled them to be discovered. These sensors were used to track the activity of submarines of the North Atlantic Alliance.
The “Sunday Times” reports that Russian intelligence activities focus on the Vanguard class underwater ships, equipped with missiles with nuclear heads. As part of the strategy of nuclear deterrence of Great Britain, at least one of these units is constantly at sea.
Russian intelligence activities in British waters
Employees of the British Ministry of Defense in an interview with the “Sunday Times” claim that Russia technologically exceeds Great Britain and its allies from NATO in submarine and methods of espionage and marine sabotage. Russian services probably use the luxury yachts of Russian oligarchs to conduct reconnaissance in British territorial waters.
In the face of these threats, London, together with the partners from Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF), introduced an initiative called Nordic Warden. This system, based on artificial intelligence, was launched in January after an incident with damage to the communication cable between Estonia and Finland.
Growing tensions in the Atlantic
The British officer, quoted by “The Telegraph”, pointed out that in the Atlantic there is a competition reminiscent of “playing a kitty and mouse”, similar to the arms race from the Cold War. He also emphasized the increased activity of Russian forces in the region, which raises the anxiety of NATO countries.
Another of the interlocutors pointed out that alliance countries must now act with greater firmness. He admitted that earlier the actions were more restrained, but now there is a demonstration of strength.
