Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski on Saturday denounced the “weak” reaction of the US Embassy to Ukraine to the deadly attack produced the day before in Krivoi Rog, reproaching them in particular that it was “fear” to tell that the rocket came from Russia, informs News.ro citing France Presse.

A Russian rocket attack killed 19 people, including several minors, in a residential area and near a children's playground in this city in the center of Ukraine, according to local authorities.

The US ambassador to Ukraine, Bridget Brink, said on Friday night “terrified” by this “ballistic missile attack”, without mentioning its source.

“Unfortunately, the reaction of the American embassy is unpleasantly amazing: a country and such a powerful people, and such a weak reaction,” Volodimir Zelenski criticized on Saturday.

“They are even afraid to pronounce the word 'Russian' when I talk about the rocket that killed children,” he added on social networks.

The United States has been the main ally of Ukraine, supporting it military and financially since the beginning of the Russian invasion in February 2022, but President Donald Trump has intensified his criticisms of Volodimir Zelenski in recent months.

Zelenski: “We should not be afraid to say things by name”

The Friday attack, one of the most serious in recent weeks, has been particularly shocking, not least because of the young age of some of the victims. The minors who died were between 3 and 17 years old, according to Volodimir Zelenski.

Volodimir Zelenski repeated another part of the US Ambassador's statement, in which she said that this type of attack is “the reason why the war has to end.”

“Yes, the war has to end. But to do this, we should not be afraid to tell things by name. We should not be afraid to put pressure on the only person who continues this war and ignores all the world's proposals to put an end to you,” he said.

Ukraine accuses Russia of playing over time to use its advantage on the front line to conquer more territory.

The United States proposed an unconditional cessation of 30 -day fire, which was accepted by Kiev, but not by Vladimir Putin.

After separate negotiations in Saudi Arabia, US President Donald Trump managed to obtain only an agreement for a cessation of fire in the Black Sea and a moratorium over the blows on the energy infrastructure.
