PAOK, the team trained by Răzvan Lucescu, beat Panserraikos 4-1, for which Andrei Ivan was only a substitute.

At the press conference that followed, Răzvan Lucescu referred in particular to the context in which the game was played, after the death of the 7 supporters in the tragic road accident that happened on January 27 in Romania.

Răzvan Lucescu: “I spent a lot of energy mentally”

“It is not easy to play in such a situation, in a sad week for us. We spent a lot of energy mentally and physically on Thursday with Lyon, playing in ten for a long time. Today we had to be completely focused, without giving hope to the opponent, and we did it in the best way.

Every player who played gave his best, showed that he was motivated. And that's something that makes me happy. It is a victory for our supporters, but also for the memory of the people who left.

I didn't expect people to be so united. Tragedies happen everywhere. But here, at PAOK and Thessaloniki, what happened was something unique”, said Lucescu jr.

Răzvan Lucescu greeted the supporters and was applauded

A few minutes before the start of the game, more than 20,000 spectators present at the “Toumba” stadium created an impressive atmosphere. Torches were lit and the arena was engulfed in smoke and light in a tribute to the seven missing supporters. Fans held moments of silence.

Răzvan Lucescu was visibly marked. At the end, he went to the gallery, where he greeted the fans and received applause. On the field, PAOK solved the problem equation from the first half. Jeremejeff opened the scoring in the 5th minute, and 3 minutes later Despodov doubled the advantage of the Romanian team, from the Swede's pass.

Panserraikos, for whom Andrei Ivan was an unused substitute, reduced the difference in the 12th minute, but only hoped for 7 minutes. Pelkas made it 3-1 for PAOK in the 19th minute and Vogliacco would set up the final score in the 26th minute.
