We give food a quarter of income, just like 100 years ago. Only now I have overcome all the other Europeans

Every weekend, Ioana Alupulesei does her food shopping at her favorite supermarket. Then he complains that he gives too much money on the food, and then he throws it because he breaks into his fridge. Indeed, Romanians allocate the largest parts of all other Europeans on food. It's not new, 100 years ago it was the same.

The culmination is that even then about 30% of the income went on their mouths, even though the Romanians did not serve avocado juice for breakfast.

Of the press 100 years ago

“We did not have to forget that the needs of a ministry director are other than the premises at the post office. Everyone holds a position have social bonds that impose expenses; they had to be better dressed, they had to read a book, they had to attend a show, they had to keep a maid, their children had to go to school.

The salary being improper, the officials are forced to resort to the shipments, or live in misery, which harm them and harm the prestige of the authority they represent. It is considered by many that everything that is granted over minimum living in 3,000 lei is somewhat a luxury and that the needs could be cut out of everything that represents this plus.

The opinion is completely false, first that 3,000 lei does not cover the expenses for a family of four people, living in Bucharest, 3,000 lei only arrive for a single man, to pay a room, heat and food. The most humble family official, he had to live today, so that he could live in the capital of the country, 5,000 lei.

The capital has become a larger and more expensive city; the needs of life were multiplied and new indispensable expenses were added. Let's take the electric light: a few decades ago, lamp oil was sufficient, today electricity is imperiously charging the budget of a family, either as humble.

Who could make up the accusation of people, that they want to become more people? We consider that the minimum of existence is 5000 lei, even this salary being not only a sum of misery, with which a family composed of four people can live, today. Because we are particularly concerned about low salaries, we will make below the type budgets for family ticks, whose monthly income is 5,000, 6,000, 7,000, 8,000, 9,000 and 10,000 a month, and whose tasks are identical: wife and two children (possibly wife, a child and mother -in -law) ”” ”
