Three young people from Focşani, detained after set fire to a house to take 200,000 euros from insurance

Three men between the ages of 22 and 34 were detained by the police, accused of setting up a building in Focşani, in order to illegally obtain a compensation of about 200,000 euros from the insurance policy, informed IPJ Vrancea.
According to investigators, two of the men convinced the third to cause the fire that took place on March 16, 2025.
“Two men, from Focşani, would have determined a person to provoke the fire in the building in Focşani, in order to collect compensation from the insurance policy, worth about 200,000 euros,” said IPJ Vrancea, in a statement quoted by Agerpres.
Following the research and two searches in Focşani, the legal classification of the deed was changed from “guilt destruction” to “destruction by fire” and “deception regarding insurance”.
The three men were detained for 24 hours on Friday. They are to be presented to the magistrates with a proposal for a preventive arrest.
