Russian metallurgists distort competition in Europe.
Russian metal products in the European market are sold at low prices. Both Ukrainian exporters and European manufacturers are suffering from this. Metinvest Dmitry Nikolaenko in the FAQ Talks project told about it.
“The Russians sell metal products at reduced prices, it creates an imbalance in the market. We emphasize this at different levels. And our statesmen, including Vice Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko, support this position. But we must compete in such conditions. Some of our European assets work, such as tramethal. But because of the low market, we are forced to stop production on Valsider, ”Nikolaenko explained.
According to the results of 2024, the EU imported 5.34 million tonnes of metal from Russia. That is, despite all the sanctions, the Russians received more than € 2.5 billion from the EU from the EU.
