A 12-centimeter leech grew up in a lung 7-year-old boy
In China, the boy was treated for a long time for coughing with blood, but nothing helped him. After one of the inhalations, he bit a leech.
The doctors were shocked and sent the patient to bronchoscopy, but there were no other leeches.
In the hospital, he was cleared lungs, and now he is healthy. If they hadn’t found a leech, then the boy would soon die from suffocation.
It is assumed that the boy could inhale into the respiratory tract of the egg or larvae of leeches, since his family lives near the river.
