PKW systems are very well secured

On Thursday afternoon, the deputy head of MC Michał Grammar in Radio Zet was asked about threats in cyberspace in the context of the upcoming presidential elections. According to the deputy minister, Poland “does not threaten to influence the election” by foreign services.
“The systems at the State Electoral Commission have, the National Electoral Office is very well secured” – he assured.
Asked if Poland is prepared for attacks in cyberspace in terms of resources and staff, grammar emphasized that the staff are “one of the strongest sides” of Poland. According to him, the state infrastructure is “very well secured“He added,”It is important for us to maintain basic digital hygiene“.
On the other hand, he pointed out that the number of attacks is increasing and “another infrastructure outside the state system is more exposed.”
“The number of attacks is a rising curve and it will probably grow until the elections” – he said.
Grammar was also asked about Wednesday's cyber attack on the PO IT system. The deputy head of MC pointed out that the attack was “dangerous because it spread over a few other accounts, was directed to an email box using malware“.
He emphasized that the department of digitization “He is not able to show the criminal, but there are some methods identified by experts“, which allow the perpetrator to indicate after the specificity of his actions.

As he assessed, “the best Polish experts” from CSIRT, i.e. the Computer Safety Incident Reacting Team, who “work on the attack analysis.They will track what was exactly attacked, what are the losses“.
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Donald Tusk informed about the attack on the IT system.
“Cyber attack on the platform's IT system. A foreign interference in the election began. The services point to the eastern trail,” he wrote on Platform X.
