Price increases in Poland in new NBP data. What does base inflation show?


On Monday, September 15, the Central Statistical Office said that consumer inflation in August 2025 fell to 2.9 percent. Slightly less positive information flows on Tuesday from the NBP. The central bank has announced the base inflation, which is higher. The main indicator was 3.2 percent.
In an analogous report from a month ago, the NBP reported that the base inflation in July was at the level of 3.3 percent. With the triangle in the front, the indicator lasts from the beginning of 2025.
How do you have new data for economists' forecasts? There is a slight profession. The average estimates suggested that base inflation would fall more – from 3.3 to 3.1 percent.

The most commonly used indicator is the inflation indicator after turning off the prices of food, energy and fuels. It shows the price trends of these goods and services, which the monetary policy pursued by the Central Bank has a relatively large impact.
