Pursuant to the current provisions, the presidential pension is 75 percent of the amount of the basic salary of the state head. This means that former presidents can count on a pension of just over 13,000. PLN gross, which gives about 11 thousand PLN on hand.

The former heads of the state are also entitled to a number of privileges:

  • funds for the maintenance of the office (about 12,000 per month),
  • lifetime protection in Poland,
  • lifetime health care for yourself and the immediate family,
  • the right to use the limousine of the State Protection Service (former Government Protection Bureau).

Bronisław Komorowski in an interview with “Fakt” stated that compared to other countries, presidential pensions are extremely low. “We definitely land somewhere at the very end,” he says.

“So that if you compare the amount of pensions of former presidents with some pensions, even with judges, prosecutor's, general or in state -owned companies, it does not make the best impression, so we all make extra. As long as we can, we work” – confesses Komorowski.

The former president also admitted that although he does not attach the greatest importance to money, he earns. “I go abroad and often perform at some conferences, order my presence of various foundations, also in Poland. However, I am a economical man. In my life I did not overflow, because I was brought up with my wife with five children, so we learned to live sparingly” – he said.

The remaining presidents also provide lectures: Lech Wałęsa and Aleksander Kwasniewski. It is unofficially said that in the case of the former head of NSZZ “Solidarity” the rates reached up to 100,000. dollars for one lecture.
