The deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Elena Penzina opposed the initiative of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation to reduce the age of criminal liability for drug sales from 16 to 14 years.
In her telegram channel, the parliamentarian shared that this proposal caused her negative feelings. Elena Penzina believes that adolescents are often used by adults and more cunning criminals, so you need to catch first of all. A decrease in the age of criminal liability does not significantly affect this.
“What can this be achieved? Increasing the number of planted children? It is necessary to take away from the criminal structures of children, and not to increase the number of juvenile citizens lost to the country, many of whom, after imprisonment, are unlikely to return to normal life, ”the deputy of the Legislative Assembly said regarding the situation.
The parliamentarian is sure that prevention is necessary here. Schoolchildren just need to talk more about the consequences of participation in criminal activity. It is also no less important to deal with advertising for drugs on the streets and on the Internet. Block sites that are engaged in the sale of prohibited substances.
At the same time, Elena Penzina noted that it is necessary to offer children some alternative. Show all the advantages of a healthy lifestyle, from an early age to instill in the children a love of sports and art. Close attention should be paid to dysfunctional families, it is important to control the situation in them.
