Three young Ukrainians who had wandered for several days through the Maramures Mountains, in the area of Budescu, were recovered on Saturday by the Maramureş Salvamontists. The three did not respect the instructions of the mountain rescuers, who had told them to stay in place, and left the area where they were located. Finally, the lifeguards found them and lowered them to the base of the mountain, where they were taken by the authorities, writes News.ro.

The Salvamont Maramureş team of the County Council left on Saturday in a search and rescue action in the Maramures Mountains, the Budescu Peak area, three Ukrainian young people aged 22, 23 and 24, who have been through the mountains and, although they had no medical problems, could not be oriented,

“In order to avoid their exposure and entering the steep areas, the mountain rescuers from the first response team started towards the base of the mountain, where they were to junction with colleagues from the Poienile de Sub Munte, and then to climb the mountain together at the coordinates offered by the colleagues from STS and recover the three,” said the three.

The mountain rescuers together with the border guards reached the location of the three Ukrainians, who did not respect the indications to stay in place and left the area where they were located.

The three had only two descent variants, so they were found by the rescue crews.

The three young people were medically evaluated and, because they did not present serious problems, but they were dehydrated and not tanned, they were lowered to the base of the mountain and taken over by the competent authorities in order to perform the procedures imposed in such cases.

“It is important for those who ask for the help of the rescue teams to follow the instructions transmitted, otherwise they can endanger their lives,” warns the Salvamontists of Maramureş.

The mission of the Salvamontists ended successfully, and the mountain rescuers withdrew at the base of Salvamont.
