Viktor Orban about the situation in Europe. “State of decay”
Orban has negatively expressed about the European economy, stating that “looking at the political and economic situation in France and Germany” the economy of the European Union has little chance to “stand on his feet”. He added, however, that he was positively looking at the situation in Poland. In his opinion, thanks to the new President Karol Nawrocki, “liberal hegemony is coming to an end.”
The politician also assessed that European leadership is currently poor, which meant that the European Union is no longer leading when it comes to global GDP. In his opinion, the EU is “in a state of decay”. – If this state persists, the organization will be able to adopt a budget for at most seven years. This will be the last EU budget, if there is no radical change – he said.
“The fate of Ukraine seems to be a foregone conclusion”
Orban also spoke about the situation in Ukraine. He stated that “the West must accept that Vladimir Putin would remain Russia's president and the Russians won the war.”
The Hungarian prime minister assessed that the fate of Ukraine seems to be a foregone conclusion, and the division of this country has already begun. He added that security guarantees about which Europe “elegantly” discusses, in fact assume the division of the country. “The Russian zone already exists, today the debate only concerns how many circuits it should cover,” he said, explaining that in his opinion Ukraine will be divided into three zones: Russian, Western and demilitarized.
