However, in an interview with The Telegraphthe 31-year-old footballer confessed that the best coach under the command of which he had the opportunity to evolve was Vincent Kompany, the current technician of Bayern Munich, with whom he collaborated in the 2024/2025 season, at the end of which the Bavarians regained their supremacy in Germany.

Fortunately I had the chance to work with many exceptional coaches. I learned important things from each of them.

The best … Hmm, I think Vincent Kompany. I had a special relationship with him and I really liked the way we motivate us, the players. Probably the fact that he is much younger than the rest helps him make it easier to understand. I all understood well, but with him (no – kompany) was something special. I would choose him.

Vincent Kompany started his career as a coach during the time he was still active as a player, in Anderlecht, in 2019, when he was only 33 years old.

Subsequently, he took over Burnley, with whom he promoted to the Premier League, at the end of the season 2022/2023. The next season, “The Clarets” failed to save themselves from retrogation, and Kompany broke up with the team on Turf Moor.

However, the Belgian technician did not stay long until he found a new commitment. Immediately after the separation of Burnley, Kompany became the coach of Bayern Munich, the team he is preparing today and with which he won two trophies, namely the title in Bundesliga (2024/2025), respectively Germany Super Cup, won right this season.
