  • “On Sunday, September 7, there is a total moon, visible eclipse of our country.
  • We inform you that, usually, during astronomical phenomena, long tails are formed at the entrance to the observer, so wait for it to be tail, ”informs the institution on Facebook on Thursday.

The usual visiting program at the Observatory is from Tuesday to Saturday, between 2:00 and 10:00 pm, Agerpres says. Sunday and Monday is closed. The last entrance to the observer is at 21:00, and the exhibition closes at 9:30 pm.

Total Moon Eclipse, visible from Romania

A total lunar eclipse will take place on the night of September 7 to 8. The moon will be in the Aquarius constellation, and throughout the Sunday night, the planet Saturn will be on the left of the Moon.

“The phenomenon begins with the entrance of the Moon into the penumbra, at 18:28, when the Moon will be under the horizon. Because the penumbra of the Earth is not very opaque, at the beginning of the color phenomenon it will not change much. In Bucharest, the Moon will rise at 7:37 pm, when it is already in the shadow of the Earth,” according to information published on Astro-Ur.

The most spectacular part of the phenomenon is the totality, the period while the month is in the shadow of our planet and acquires the specific reddish color. The whole starts at 8:30 pm, has a maximum at 21:21 and ends at 21:52. During the totality, the moon will be quite down in the sky, towards East-Sud.

The eclipse ends at 23:55.

From Romania, the next lunar eclipse will be seen on August 28, 2026, the representatives of the astronomical observer mentions.
