Deoxinsinivalenol (also known as vomitoxin) is produced by molds and is a danger to the health of people and animals. Toxin causes a gag reflex, affects the kidneys and suppresses the immune system. Its long -term exposure is especially insidious, since the symptoms of poisoning are easy to confuse with other diseases.
Experts warn that polluted cereals can fall into the food chain – toxin accumulates in the body of animals and can be transmitted through dairy products and eggs. In livestock breeding, this leads to a gradual decrease in productivity and the abandonment of animals from food.
