Russian firefighters continued to fight on Saturday against a fire caused a few days ago by Ukrainian drone fragments, near the “palace” that would be the property of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the Black Sea, reports France Presse.
Authorities in the Krasnodar region in southern Russia announced on Thursday the fall of a drone that caused a fire in a “forest area” near Ghelendjik.
In this area there is a luxurious residence nicknamed “Putin's Palace”, but with which the Russian president denies any connection.
The Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations said on Saturday that over 400 firefighters are still acting to extinguish the fire near Ghelendjik.
Video images published on Friday by the ministry show how the flames consume the trees, the soil is covered by ash, and a helicopter carries water to the region.

Nothing indicates for the moment that the fire directly threatens “Putin's Palace”, which the Russian authorities have not mentioned in their various communications.
The Russian opponent Aleksei Navalnîi-meanwhile in prison, in still unclear circumstances-published in 2021 an investigation in which he accused Vladimir Putin of being the owner of this huge field located in a tourist area on the Black Sea shore.
This lavish ensemble, funded by corruption, would have, among others, a vine, an ice hockey field or even a casino, according to this investigation.
Vladimir Putin has always denied that he would be the owner of this field.

Ukraine, which struggles from 2022 against a large Russian invasion on its territory, defends itself by hitting Russia with drones.
These hits of the Ukrainians have changed the habits of Vladimir Putin, according to the Russian site of prokt investigations.
Fearing for his safety, Putin would have ceased to go to the resort of Soci, which is in the range of drones, this publication reported by leaving anonymous sources.
The disclosure of Putin's palace has taken thousands of Russians in the street
The disclosure of the palace built with funds from Russian businessmen triggered massive protests in Russia, thousands of people being arrested in the big cities of the country at that time. The scandal was so great that Putin himself denied any association of his and his relatives with the palace, although the Russian president almost never comments on such topics.
A year later, Navalnîi's investigator team published new images from inside the palace, which showed his opulent luxury. New images with the hidden camera were published by the anti-corruption foundation founded by Navalnîi in May last year, a few months after the death of the Russian dissident in a criminal colony in Siberia.
The Meduza site investigations reminds of the information that Vladimir Putin has ceased to fly to Soci, the city of Krasnodar where the airport is located, due to fears for his life.
Before the war, he used to spend about a month a year, at a separate residence he has in the region, especially during September-November. He also had a tradition of celebrating the birthday of his alleged mistress, former gymnast Alina Kabaeva, who was born on May 12.
In the first year of the war with Ukraine, Putin continued to fly to Sochi without changing his habits. It all changed dramatically in 2023, when Ukrainian drones began to attack objectives in the city.
