The human rights activist said that the attitude towards the Russians, who in the United States counted on asylum, has changed dramatically in May 2024. If it was possible to enter the USA across the Mexican border, get a summons to the court and remain free in the hope of receiving asylum, then the Russians began to be placed in immigration prisons, says Valuev.
According to him, unhealthy Russians spent about a year in such prisons.
Valuev said that during the summer of 2025, the United States sent two aircraft with deported Russians in the Russian Federation – in July (about 40 people) and in August (up to 60 people).
In particular, says Valuev, on August 27, a plane arrived at the Moscow Domodedovo airport with a large group of Russians deported from the United States, they were delivered with a transfer in the capital of Egypt Cairo.
“The Russians were delivered to Cairo by a flight from the United States. During the transplant, several people tried to change the route so as not to fly to Moscow, but were beaten by employees of one of the Egyptian special services, Valuev said. As a result, they put everyone on a flight to Moscow,” the agency writes.
According to Valuev, with the deported from the United States in Moscow, they “talked for a long time”, but only one of 10 Russians that he knows about. The rest allegedly remained free.
The human rights activist said that the deported – the Russians who found themselves in the US immigration prisons lost the courts about the shelter or chose a self -deportation (returning to the Russian Federation without waiting for the court).
“It is known that among those sent to Russia there were several people who were afraid of political persecution in Moscow. […] There was a former military man on board, against whom the case of unauthorized abandonment of the unit was opened in Russia. He tried to get asylum in the United States, but lost the court. […] In July, the Perm activist Leonid Melekhin, who was wanted in the case of “justification of terrorism,” was deported from the United States. He was sent to a pre -trial detention center in Russia, ”the material says.
Valuev predicts that in the near future there may be another deportation.
