The first small nuclear power plant in Włocławek will be built in Europe. This is one of the arrangements of the agreement between Orlen and Synthos Green Energy, said Orlen on Thursday. He added that the BWRX-300 is the most technologically advanced project of small reactors in the world.

“The first Polish atomic power plant SMR will stand in Włocławek,” Orlen announced. He reminded that the BWRX-300 reactors were in the strategy of the “Energia tomorrow starts today”. According to this document, by 2035, the concern wants to have at least two SMR reactors with a total power of 0.6 GW.

“In Poland, the first small nuclear power plant in Europe will be built in Europe. We are building the energy of tomorrow. This is the meaning of the decision of the Orlen Group taken by the supervisory board of the decision, which approved the content of the agreement in this matter,” the concern said.

Orlen explained that the agreement with Synthos consists of two elements, including arrangements regarding the functioning of Orlen Synthos Green Energy (Osge), in which Orlen and Synthos have 50 percent each. shares. Changes equate the rights of partners and increase the control of Orlen in key corporate issues.

The second element – as the concern donated – is a license agreement that gives Osge full access to American BWRX -300 technology – the so -called Standard design, which will allow you to start a process, the final of which will be the construction of the first Polish atomic power plant SMR in the key location for Orlen – in Włocławek.
