“Many of the notifications received in recent months have been confirmed”, said Serban, specifying that, in July, ASFR found 49 technical faults, trains put into circulation with fewer companions than the contract, unauthorized personnel involved in traffic safety, but also serious deviations in the employee training process.

Following these findings, sanctions were applied and clear measures were applied.

“Sanctions have been applied and clear measures have been imposed, with firm terms. In addition, ASFR proposed the elaboration of a project of the Minister of Transport, to improve the control over how the Metrorex staff is prepared for the safety of the passengers.” added Ciprian Șerban.

“We will closely follow how the measures arranged are implemented. The safety of the people are not treated with superficiality. Who does not respect the rules, will answer. And for those in the Metrorex offices, I say so: before the bonuses for the underground work, to think about the conditions in which the traveling public circulates,” Minister Ciprian Șerban said.

In less than two weeks, STB -Metrorex tickets will be expensive. A STB Plus Metrorex ticket will cost 7 lei, instead of 5 lei, and a metropolitan subscription and subway, for 1 year, will increase over 200 lei.
