Tens of thousands of people were deprived of electricity on Monday as a result of the transition of a sandstorm in Phoenix, Arizona in the south of the United States. Flights were temporarily suspended from the local airport.


According to Poweroutage.us on Monday evening (on Monday night to Tuesday Polish time) over 15,000. People did not have electricity in Arizona, most of which in Maricopa, covering Phoenix.
The Sky Harbor international airport in Phoenix stopped the flights for some time, and on Monday evening they were delayed by an average of 15-30 minutes.
Sandstorms, called Haboob in this region, are accompanied by such strong winds that driving a car then becomes practically impossible.
The AP agency cited the relationship of a woman who carried the children from school home, but she had to stop because of the storm: – When I put my hand outside, I didn't see her.
