Władysław Bartoszewski about the drone: “He came from the territory of Ukraine”


The incident occurred last week from Tuesday to Wednesday. The unidentified object fell to the cornfield, and then exploded, causing, among others Breaking windows in nearby houses. The Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz described the incident as a Russian provocation that occurred at a critical moment of talks about peace in Ukraine.
The investigation is conducted by the army and the prosecutor's office. According to the head of the District Prosecutor's Office in Lublin, Grzegorz Trusiewicz, everything indicates that the drone came from Belarus. Investigators still find its fragments, even over 100 meters from the place of explosion.
Remains analysis and diplomatic reaction
Bartoszewski in an interview with TV Republika pointed out that a detailed analysis of the wreck is currently underway. “For now, there is no official version. However, from what I hear – this is not an official version, we are waiting for the report – he flew from Ukraine, which is interesting because the Ukrainians are the best prepared of all countries to fight drones, because they are dealing with it every day” – he said.
He emphasized at the same time: “We think it was a Russian drone that flew through the territory of Ukraine.”
In a similar tone, the deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Marcin Bosacki spoke earlier, who suggested that the drone could be intended for attack on Ukraine, but fell on the territory of Poland.
In response to the incident, Poland sent a protest note to the embassy of the Russian Federation. As reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Paweł Wroński, it indicated the violation by Moscow of the Treaty on Friendship and Cooperation of 1992, the Chicago Convention of 1944 and customary law.
Kosiniak-Kamysz announced that the operational commander would prepare a full report on Russian provocation and the conclusions to be drawn from it.
