Explosion under Osinami. “It was a Russian drone that flew through the territory of Ukraine”

The deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski reported on Monday that the drone, which on the night of August 19-20 exploded under Osinami (Lublin Voivodeship), probably came from Ukraine. We think it was a Russian drone that flew through Ukraine – he said.

Last week, on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday near Osinami in the Lublin region there was an incident in which the flying object fell to the cornfield and exploded. As a result of the explosion, glass in nearby houses was broken. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz later announced that the object is a Russian drone, and emphasized that the event is a provocation of Russia, which occurred at a special moment when discussions about peace in Ukraine are underway.

The army is examined by the army and the prosecutor's office. Last Thursday, the head of the District Prosecutor's Office in Lublin Grzegorz Trusiewicz emphasized that everything indicates that the drone came from Belarus, and investigators still find its new elements even over 100 meters from the place of explosion.

On Monday, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski was asked about this incident with a drone. The deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that a very detailed analysis of the remains of the machine is currently carried out. He added that the drone probably came from Ukraine, emphasizing that it was based on unofficial data.

– There is no official version yet. However, from what I hear – this is not an official version, we are waiting for the report – he flew from Ukraine, which is interesting because the Ukrainians are the best prepared of all countries to fight the drones, because they are dealing with it every day – said the deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. – We think it was a Russian drone that flew through the territory of Ukraine – he emphasized.

In a similar tone, another Thursday, another deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Marcin Bosacki spoke, who said that the drone was likely to be used against Ukraine by Russia, flew through a fragment of Ukrainian territory and fell in Poland.

In connection with the events of Osiny, on Thursday afternoon the Embassy of the Russian Federation was passed by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Protestive Note. As spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Paweł Wroński said, in the protest note Poland indicates that Russia violated the treaty on friendship and cooperation of 1992 and the Chicago Convention of 1944 and many customary rights.

Deputy Prime Minister, head of the Ministry of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz informed last week that in connection with the incident under Osina, he obliged the operational commander to prepare a comprehensive report on Russian provocation and recommendations that result from this situation.
