Donald Trump answered the question of a reporter on Monday if he spoke with Vladimir Putin from the last month, from the White House, with Volodimir Zelenski and several European leaders, AFP reports.

“I think we will end the war,” said the US president, without giving more details, in the context of his plan to bring the Russian and Ukrainian presidents to the same table seems to have arrived in a deadlock.

“They don't like it,” Trump replied, then asked about the subject.

“All the conversations I have with him (Putin, no) are good conversations but, unfortunately, the next day a bomb is launched on Kiev or elsewhere and this is angry,” said the US President, who met his Russian counterpart in Alaska about ten days ago.

“It was not easy for him to come to Alaska,” Donald Trump said, while Volodimir Zelenski believed that, on the contrary, it was a “victory” for the Russian president to be received in the American territory.

At the same time, Trump said that there could be “consequences” if Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian president Volodimir Zelenski will not meet, notes Reuters.

Trump also said, according to Reuters, that he did not discuss with little about specific security guarantees for Ukraine and reaffirmed the US commitment to support Kiev.

The US president indicated that the discussion with the Russian counterpart during their meeting was also aimed at “denuclearization”. “We will include China” in this dialogue, he assured.
