Mexico is to be “guilty” of Texas water. Trump threatens with new sanctions

According to the Treaty of 1944, Mexico must send 1.75 million water to the US every five years to the USA through the network of Rio Grande via the network connected there and the tanks. Akro-stop water is enough to fill about half of the Olympic pool, it is over 1.2 million liters.

On Thursday, Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social that Mexico is “guilty” of Texas water under the water treaty of 1944 “But unfortunately it violates his treaty obligations” – he added. The President of the US announced that “if Mexico does not respect the treaty and does not give the water to Texas, which they deserve”, the US will impose further sanctions and duties on the country. Donald Trump also attacked Joe Biden in the post. He stated that he “did not even nod in this matter.”

The President of Mexico responds. She is sure that “the agreement will be reached”

In response, Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum wrote on the website X that Mexico warns the treaty “to the extent that water is available” in the face of a three -year drought. On Wednesday, American officials were proposed to solve the issue of water supply to Texas, which includes short -term activities. “I am sure that, like in other issues, the agreement will be reached,” wrote Sheinbaum.

As an obstacle in filling the assumptions of the treaty, Mexican officials indicated a historical drought. This is also affected by poor infrastructure and growing local demand – says Reuters. On the other hand, the treaty requires the United States to provide Mexico with 1.5 million acro-hosts of water annually from the Colorado River. The US was largely fulfilled by the assumptions of the treaty, but due to drought the last deliveries were also reduced.
