The Bucharest Court of Appeal annulled the decision of the Bucharest Court by which the PSD was obliged to pay the former Minister of Health, Vlad Voiculescu, 25,000 euros moral damages and to withdraw several posts considered defamatory.

According to the decision of the Court of Appeal judges, the solution is as follows and can be appealed:

The Bucharest Court of Appeal has decided that the PSD should not pay damages to the former Minister of Health, Vlad Voiculescu, permanently rejecting his action. The decision comes after, in the first instance, the Bucharest Court had given Voiculescu justice and forced the PSD to delete one of the posts, considering that “Accusations of criminal nature have been formulated as if they were certain, thus exceeding freedom of expression.”
In his motivation, CAB appreciated that “The whole action is unfounded, and the posts fall into the register of political controversy, protected by freedom of expression.”
