In July, electricity consumption in China exceeded the level of billion kilowatt hours, reaching a record 1.02 trillion kWh – the National Energy Administration (NAE) informed. Poland would need about 6 years for the consumption of such an amount of energy.

Compared to July last year, electricity consumption increased by 8.6 percent, in a decade – more than twice – according to the NAE report published on Thursday.
The household sector recorded an increase in consumption by 18 percent. to 203.9 billion kWh. Long -term heat contributed to this. In some provinces, especially in the central part of the country, such as Henan, Shaanxi or Sichuan, energy consumption by residents increased by over 30 percent. – notes the state sender CCTV.

The agricultural sector recorded an increase of 20.2 percent. up to 17 billion kWh, then service by 10.7 percent, and industrial by 4.7 percent, where 208.1 billion kWh and 593.6 billion kWh were used, respectively.
At the same time, there was a clear increase in the share of new energy sources, such as wind, sun and biomass. They have already constituted almost a quarter of the total production of electricity, which emphasizes “accelerating the pace of transformation of China in the direction of green energy” – it was assessed in the report.
Analysts cited by the government tabloid “Global Times” emphasize that these data also testify to the resistance and stability of the Chinese economy, which maintains a high rate of industrial production.

The data of the National Statistical Office published in August shows that in July China achieved an increase in industrial production of 5.7 percent. per year. It was slower than 6.8 percent. recorded in June.
According to Polish electricity networks, the average domestic energy consumption has been around 169.9 billion kWh over the past five years. This means that to cover energy consumption similar to what China used in July alone, Poland would need about six years.
