The draft ordinance of the Council of Ministers on the amount of minimum remuneration for work was transferred on Wednesday for opinions. According to it, from January 1, 2026, the minimum wage for work will be PLN 4,806 gross, and the minimum hourly rate – PLN 31.40 gross.

Pursuant to the draft regulation of the Council of Ministers on the amount of the minimum wage for work and the minimum hourly rate in 2026, the minimum wage for work will be PLN 4806 gross, and the minimum hourly rate – PLN 31.40 gross.
The proposal of the minimum remuneration for work is annually the subject of negotiations within the Social Dialogue Council. However, RDS did not develop a common position in the case at the July meeting.
Planned for 2026 by the government, the minimum wage and hourly rate increases the cost for small and medium -sized companies of PLN 3.44 billion, and for large companies PLN 605.3 million – according to the assessment of the effects of regulation (OSR) of the draft regulation.
Households are to gain PLN 2.72 billion.
In 2026, the government proposes an increase in minimum sex to PLN 4806 and PLN 31.4/hour.
OSR shows that the effect for the public finance sector is PLN +1.3 billion.
Pursuant to the regulations, if the RDS does not agree on the minimum wage and hourly rate within the statutory period, then these amounts until September 15 this year. The Council of Ministers sets out by regulation. The amount of the minimum wage for work, as well as the amount of the minimum hourly rate set by the Council of Ministers, however, may not be lower than those that were previously presented to the Social Dialogue Council for negotiations.

In June, the government proposed that from January 1, 2026, the minimum wage was PLN 4,806 gross, and the minimum hourly rate for specific civil law contracts to PLN 31.40. This means that the government has maintained its earlier proposal, as evidenced by the draft regulation directed for opinions.

Trade unions are critical of the minimum wage proposed by the government. They are at the position that next year's minimum wage for work is not less than PLN 5015 gross.
In turn, representatives of employers moderately approach the government's proposals, describing it as a compromise solution.
The Act guarantees an annual increase in the minimum wage to an extent not lower than the total increase in the prices of goods and consumer services forecasted for a given year. At the same time, if in the first quarter of the year in which negotiations take place, the amount of minimum wage is lower than half the average salary in the national economy, this guarantee is increased by two -thirds of the forecast index of the real growth of GDP.
