In his statements on Monday evening, Ushakov did not clarify what would involve this and did not mention a possible trilateral meeting with Trump and Zelenski.
On Tuesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told state television that any meeting between Russian and Ukrainian presidents should be prepared “very thoroughly”.
In an interview with Tuesday Fox News, Trump acknowledged that the Russian leader may not want to conclude an agreement. “We will find out about President Putin in the next two weeks. He may not want to conclude an agreement,” said the US president, adding that Putin will face a “difficult situation” if this is the case.
