Most of the Krasnoyarsk residents spoke out against the restrictions on calls to Telegram and WhatsApp

The Superjob Superjob Search Service conducted a survey and found out how Krasnoyarsk residents relate to Roskomnadzor's restrictions on calls to Telegram and WhatsApp*.

According to analysts, 55 % of economically active citizens do not support the actions of the RKN. Residents of the regional capital believe that restrictions in instant messengers will not only not interfere with the work of scammers, but will also create difficulties for ordinary users. This will especially affect those who work in a rotational basis or remotely. The first – they will not be able to use the video link to call relatives and friends, the latter to face serious problems during working calls.

At the same time, 39 % of the Krasnoyarsk residents completely agree with the decision of the Federal Service regarding Telegram and WhatsApp. Citizens believe that restrictions on calls in messengers are a forced measure, and thus RKN takes care of their safety. Also, residents of the regional center are sure that in the new realities they will communicate more live – this is what they attribute to the pluses.

Note that in Krasnoyarsk there are more restrictions among men, and among women higher the number of approving. Respondents up to 35 years old often demonstrate skepticism: 59 % do not approve of Roskomnadzor’s actions, while among people from 45 years of age the level of support of the federal service reaches 43 %.

It is also interesting that the townspeople with earnings of 100 thousand rubles opposed the blocking of calls in messengers more often than those who make less.

Recall that the RKN partially limited the voice calls to Telegram and WhatsApp to combat crime, it became known on August 14. According to the regulator, these messengers became “the main voice services used to deceive and extort money, involve Russians in sabotage and terrorist activities”, and their owners ignore the requirements to take measures.
