During the meeting in the Oval Office with Zelanski, Trump said that the issue of security guarantee will be one of the main topics discussed during talks in a extended group with the participation of European leaders.

When asked if he was considering sending American soldiers to Ukraine after the possible cessation of fights, Trump replied: – Maybe we will tell you about it later, today, we meet with seven great people, great countries and we will talk about it. They will all be involved, but they will have a lot of help when it comes to safety.

Trump added that Europeans are the “first line of defense”, but declared that the US would help them.

When asked later whether he intends to offer Ukraine a protection similar to NATO, Trump replied that he did not know if he would describe it this way, but European leaders want to offer Ukraine security, and America will help them. He also promised that he would provide Ukraine with good protection.

– We will cooperate with Ukraine, we will cooperate with everyone and make sure that peace, if it is, this room lasted a long time. We are not talking about a two -year -old room, and then fall into this mess again.

Trump also announced that shortly after Monday's meetings he was to have a telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin and that he was already in contact with him “indirectly” before the meeting. He noted that his goal would be to organize a tripartite meeting.

“If we don't have a three -sided meeting, the fights will last, if there is a meeting, there is a great chance for peace,” Trump said.

Anti -aircraft alarm throughout Ukraine due to the threat of ballistic missiles attack

An anti -alarm was announced throughout Ukraine in connection with the threat of firing ballistic missiles towards the country by the Russian fighter MIG -31K – they passed the air forces of Ukraine.

“Note! Rocket threat throughout the territory of Ukraine. The start of the MIG-31K fighter was registered!” – indicated in the Air Force message.

Kiev city state administration in the Telegram messenger appealed to the residents of the capital to urgently go to civil protection shelters.

Zelnski in the White House: We are ready for a three -sided meeting with Putin

Zełenski himself confirmed the readiness for such a meeting.

When asked about the resignation of his previous request for suspension of a weapon, Trump said that he did not need a suspension of weapons and although he admitted that maybe it would be a good thing, he expressed the certainty that the war could be ended immediately through the final peace agreement.

– We can generate an agreement in which we will work on a peace agreement while they will fight this fight. I would prefer them to stop. I would like them to stop, but strategically speaking, it could be unfavorable for one or the other – he said.

Trump avoided the answer to the question of whether Ukraine wants – as Russia wants – withdrew from the part of Donbass in exchange for the end of the fighting. He only replied that he wanted to end the war.

The meeting took place in a much more friendly atmosphere than the first meeting of leaders in the White House on February 28 ended with a public quarrel. Like then, Zełnski, who came at a meeting in a suit in a military style and a black shirt, got into an exchange with an extremely right -wing commentator Brian Glenn, who in February asked him why he did not put on a suit. This time Glenn praised him for their clothes – and this compliment was confirmed by Trump – to which Zelanski replied that although he changed his clothes, Glenn is in the same suit as then.

Answering Glenn to his question about the readiness to conduct elections, the Ukrainian president said he was open to conducting elections, but – as he noted – voting should take place in safe conditions.

When asked about what security guarantees he expected for his country, he admitted that he needs “everything”. – First of all, it is a strong Ukrainian army. This applies to weapons, staff, training missions, intelligence information – emphasized Zelanski. He noted that it will depend on large countries like the USA.

Zelanski gave Trump a letter from his wife – Ołny to his wife – Melania

On Monday, the President of Ukraine Wołodymyr Złeski handed a letter to US President Donald Trump from his wife, Ołena Zełenska. He asked the American leader to pass him on to his wife, Melania.

“It's not for you,” Zelanski joked, handing the white envelope to Trump.

He referred with this gesture to the letter, which Melania Trump gave the Russian leader to Vladimir Putin through his husband. She called in it to protect children and “create a world full of dignity for everyone.” Trump personally handed the letter to Putin during a Friday meeting in Alaska.
