Vladimir Putin confirmed his readiness to negotiate with Ukraine without preliminary conditions during a meeting with the envoy of the US President Donald Trump Steve Witkoff, said the Interfax agency on Saturday, citing the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Pieskow.

Witkoff came to Moscow on Friday for his fourth meeting with Putin in the last three months. After the meeting, the adviser Putin assessed that the interlocutors managed to reduce the differences in America and Russia's positions regarding the end of the conflict in Ukraine. Donald Trump said that despite clear differences in positions, both parties are “very close to agreements”.
The agencies emphasized that Moscow and Kyiv did not have direct talks from the early stage of the Russian invasion.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, President Trump wrote in his social channel that Vladimir Putin should not bombed civilian areas in Ukraine. He also stated that Putin deceives him and does not want to end the war, so maybe you will have to “deal with him differently, through +banking +or +secondary sanctions”. (PAP)
