The Russian and Ukrainian troops continue to face in eastern Ukraine, despite the intense activity on the diplomatic and political fronts, informs the DPA on Sunday, taken over by Agerpres.
In total, 65 armed clashes were recorded during the last day, the Ukrainian General Staff announced on Sunday afternoon.
The battles focused in the areas of Kupiansk and Pokrovsk. The Ukrainian positions near the city of Kupiansk were attacked with guided bombs and rocket launchers.
“The Ukrainian units are taking active measures to prevent the occupants' plans and register some successes in some places,” the General Staff of Kiev reported, without providing other details.

There were 27 attacks of Russian units on the permanent focal point in Pokrovsk during Sunday. The attacks were rejected.
The Russian army has been trying for months to take control of Pokrovsk. This city is already largely destroyed by heavy struggles.
