The applause with which Donald Trump welcomed Vladimir Putin came to what Russia's leadership asked for his press: to emphasize Putin's role in establishing the agenda and to blame Ukraine that he does not want to conclude the war.

Meduza, a Russian independent site that is published outside the country, obtained the document by which the Kremlin gave indications of the official propaganda represented by the Russian media.

The leadership from Moscow asked the journalists before the Trump meeting-Putin to minimize the expectations for the result of the meeting, while underlining Putin's role in “establishing the agenda” for the US and Russia relations, writes Meduza.

The Kremlin also indicated to the journalist to present Ukraine as unreasonable and reluctant to negotiates and to report that Putin presented this argument to Trump.

Basically, there is in advance some of what Putin will tell Trump, including this older idea that the Ukrainians, supported by Europeans, share with them a hostility and a lack of real desire to conclude the war.

In contrast, Russian journalists from the state media were trained to suffer that Moscow is flexible, unlike Ukraine. They were told that I can send that Moscow is “prepared for various scenarios in the negotiations” and that the Russian president “sets the agenda of Russian-American relations”, according to the document obtained by the Meduza.
