On the table of discussions regarding the budget balancing measures, including tax increases and the cutting of expenses in the budget sector, it was advanced, from the business environment, and the idea of a universal tax applied to all transactions, on “any money movement”, say for profit.ro Political sources participating in the negotiations presided by Nicu.
The argument was that of an extremely wide taxable base that, combined with a small rate, can generate substantial revenues for the budget. In other words, the taxation of “any money movement” in the economy-even with a small fraction per transaction-can bring considerable funds to the state, in a difficult way to avoid taxpayers and efficient to collect, it has been shown.
