“It already takes 10 minutes,” the player said. Arbitrate, however, he seemed to do nothing. “Is he just a child. Do you want to get him out?”, The chair referee replied.
Raducanu seemed to agree with the idea, as did some spectators, who cried “yes” from the stands in response to the arbitration question. She then decided to call someone to solve the problem.
Raducanu, the world number 39, equalized in the third set. The match had to be decided at Tie-Break, on which Sabalenka, the world number one, earned by 7-5, qualifying in the third round of the tournament.
Despite the defeat, Raducanu's good evolution was recognized. He received ovations from the public, and Sabalenka himself applauded the opponent.
And Aryna Sabalenka had an unusual request before the match with Emma Răducanu
Prior to the match, Sabalenka also made an unusual request to Cincinnati Open organizers. The player believes that the restaurant areas should be larger.
“My only request is that next year to increase the restaurant area. There are many people and the tables are very small, please. Next year, make sure that the space in the restaurant areas is larger. Everyone wants to eat and spend time together. We need a larger restaurant area,” Aryna Sabalenka said.
