According to the publication, the authorities do not refuse the project and are now being worked out in an expanded format. We are talking about a highway with a total length of about 2250 km, which will pass through Mongolia to China. It is assumed that the construction will be carried out by analogy with the Pacific Railway – completely at the expense of private investors. Now the priority task is to begin the preparation of the technical and economic justification of the project.
The basis of the cargo flow of the new highway should be resources from Tuva and neighboring regions, primarily coal and iron ore. Also, grain, forest and other goods can go along it.
Recall that this long -suffering project has been discussed for almost 20 years. Talking about the construction of the road Started Back in 2006. In December 2011, the construction was given an official start – a silver crutch in the first link of the railway track scored Russian President Vladimir Putin. In 2012, a contractor was chosen work, but in 2013, the construction investor asked to announce it bankrupt. In 2016, investigators excited A criminal case of fraud during the construction of the bridge, which was built as part of the project.
Then it was assumed that the construction of the railway will begin in 2019 and end by 2023, but this did not happen. In 2021, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed an order that suspended the concession agreement for up to five years.
