Attention, Germany! He is coming after Duda. Poland has a new president-42-year-old Karol Nawrocki, whose swearing in was applauded by his supporters from the nationalist PiS.
It was not a happy day for Prime Minister Donald Tusk. Nawrocki, a former boxer from Gdańsk, thanks to the right of veto towards each law, because he can mercilessly disturb him in internal policy, sabotaging its coalition government. It is also not a holiday for Berlin and Brussels.
In the end, Nawrocki means less willingness to cooperate within the EU and focus primarily on Poland. In the election campaign he gave anti -German slogans and demanded war reparations from Germany. He publicly called Prime Minister Tusk the “agent” of Germany and the EU. Both politicians did not like each other, which could be seen when the president was sworn in.
However, despite all internal disputes, in one issue all Poles agree – the army should be further strengthened. After all, everyone in Poland agrees that Russia is an enemy in the immediate vicinity.

The small advantage of Nawrocki, who is a supporter of US President Donald Trump, in the June election was a serious blow to the coalition led by Donald Tusk.
The President of Poland has large powers – he is the commander -in -chief of the armed forces and has the right to report bills – or block government projects.
Duda has already made sure that the process of restoring the rule of law by Tusk was slow. Nawrocki wants to act even more aggressively to present the government as ineffective and pave PiS's way to return to power in the parliamentary elections in 2027.
“First Poles and national interest”
Polish political scientists predict that by that time Poland will witness a two -year fight between Nawrocki and Tusk.
The great potential of the conflict results primarily from Tusk's efforts to withdraw changes in the judicial system introduced by the previous PiS government. Due to Duda's resistance, Tusk did not achieve any progress. Nawrocki will probably continue to block such changes.

Nawrocki has already announced that he would immediately present specific initiatives. He emphasized that his election victory means “ambitious Poland.” “Illegal immigrants” are to be stopped at the borders.
Nawrocki also announced readiness to talk, but he said that it was to be a dialogue in which it was clearly said: first Poland, first Poles and national interest.
Earlier, he wrote about the presidential election, among others The prestigious British weekly “The Economist”. In the cover text, Poland has been warned that the return towards nationalism can cost our country influence, which Warsaw has hardly built for many years in the international arena.
– One vision, presented by the Law and Justice candidate, is a right -wing nationalism that draws strength from conflicts with neighbors and the European Union. The second, central vision says that in the dangerous world Poland needs Europe to strengthen its advantages, as well as Europe needs Poland as a source of security and economic dynamics. Unfortunately, right now can have an advantage. However, Poland can keep its place in the heart of Europe. However, if he turns inside, the country and the continent will lose on it – wrote “The Economist” in the text that has been widely heard in the world.
