Florin Prunea (57 years old), former Romanian international and current UEFA delegate, published a letter on social media in which he clarified the offensive statements he made to Jurgen Klopp.
The words of the Romanian UEFA delegate also made waves in the international press, where publications such as the Daily Mirror and Bild seriously “rolled” him for the insults brought to the coach.
Now, Florin Prunea has come up with explanations related to his statements, conveying the fact that “the show is sports entertainment, where irony, sarcasm and humor are frequently used as means of expression”.

Florin Prunea posted a version of the text in English and one in Romanian.
“Dear representatives of the media,
My name is Florian Prunea and I would like to provide some clarifications in relation to the article published on October 16, 2025 that refers to my recent statements about Jurgen Klopp, presented on the Romanian show iAMSport.
The show in question is one of sports entertainment, where irony, sarcasm and humor are frequently used as means of expression. Unfortunately, literal translations from Romanian to English or other languages can lose these important nuances, especially in terms of tone and context.
It was never my intention to attack Jurgen Klopp or make offensive remarks about him. On the contrary, I deeply respect him as a professional and admire his remarkable achievements in football.
Regarding the expression “I never liked him”, I mention that public figures often become subjects of opinion, and such formulations, in a relaxed and humorous context, do not express hostility or disrespect.
If these statements were perceived as offensive, I sincerely apologize. NThis was my intention, and they do not reflect my personal and professional conduct eithernor my true appreciation of Mr. Klopp.
Thank you for your attention and the opportunity to clarify this situation.
Sincerely, Florian Prunea”, was the message posted by the former international on the Instagram social network.
What Florin Prunea said about Jurgen Klopp: “He eats with those carbide teeth, he chews bricks. A coaching shack”
Florin Prunea called Jurgen Klopp a “parrot” and had several insulting remarks about the former Liverpool manager related to his physical appearance. The UEFA delegate said he “never liked” Jurgen Klopp.
Come on, leave me with your parrot. The worst manager in Liverpool history. He went to RB Salzburg to stay there, to get some money too. A coach shack, never liked it. I could never stand him, when I saw him doing all that circus, you said he was eating with those carbide teeth, he was chewing bricks. That circus he used to do.
It was a little difficult… He was also clapping his hands a little there, a coach's hut. For real? Nobody, until he came, was pressing? What did he invent? It has been pressing since the days of nea 'Piști' Kovacs
