On Tuesday at noon, the Sejm is to take care of the report from the government's bill on determining the amount of pensions from the Social Insurance Fund established in June in 2009-2019 and family pensions after insured, which were established pensions in June in 2009-2019.
It is about the so -called June pensions, i.e. the problem of those who retired in June between 2009 and 2019. Such a decision resulted in a lower benefit for them.
Why does the time range end for 2019? In 2020 in the so -called The Covid act was changed only for people retiring in June this particular year.
A year later, the case was regulated for later years, i.e. from 2021 above. The then government, however, did not solve the problem of those who had a low pension since 2009. This is to change from January 2026.because then the act, which is currently being processed in the Sejm, is to be in force.
June pensions. What is it about?
All the trouble with June pensions concerns people who were born after 1948, i.e. those who retired at the earliest in 2009. So here we are talking about 1949-1959 among women and 1949-1954 in men.
In short: often the amount of the pension was dependent on the month in which the work ended. The worst was in June. At that time, the funds were valorized annually, not quarterly.
The thing is that usually the sum of quarterly valorisations was higher than one year. And hence people born in June and retiring were injured.
The problem affects approx. 100,000 people. Government estimates speak of 95.5 thousand. pensioners and 8,000 people receiving survivors' pensions, e.g. after a deceased spouse.
There will be increases in pensions
The new regulations assume that ZUS will calculate the amount of the benefit to everyone who was injured in 2009-2019 because they retired in June.
Now the rule will be: ZUS will count according to May indicators and choose which version is more favorable for such a senior. Then he is valorized in such a calculated pension and indicates its new amount. Importantly, there is no option that it will be lower than the previous one.
Example? A woman who retired in June 2015 will have a retirement again. As if she submitted the application a month earlier, i.e. in May 2015.
The amount obtained in this way will then be increased by the March valorisation indicators of 2016-2025. This is how we will get a new benefit as at July 2025, which may be higher by PLN 100-200 than the current one.
The most important change in relation to the original version of the project is that ZUS will calculate these benefits from the machine. You will not have to submit an application, and such a condition was in the first variant. We wrote about it at Business Insider Polska. Even on parliamentary pages, there is still information that the application will be necessary. However, the project says something different.

However, the government does not want to agree that pensioners will receive compensation for all these years of low benefits. The only alignment will take into account the period from July 2025 until the benefit is converted, i.e. half a year. All because the government was late with the introduction of regulations that were to apply from mid -this year.
Seniors went to the courts
It is worth emphasizing that many seniors victims of unfair regulations went to court with ZUS, demanding a better conversion of the pension. Such proceedings are pending, even the first sentences are passed. We wrote about it at Business Insider Polska.

Sometimes the courts order ZUS Not only recalculation of the pension, but also the payment of compensation for years of low benefits. Here, however, the matter is very individual.
In the government act, however, we find a provision that in the case of pension pensions pensioners will not be converted from the machine. The plant is to wait until the end and the court's decisions will become final.
“The proceedings regarding the determination of the amount of the June or survivor's pension, conducted on the basis of this Act, would be suspended by ZUS ex officio if administrative or court proceedings are pending regarding the determination of the right or the amount of pension or family pension. In the event of a final completion of the proceedings in this case, the Social Insurance Institution will take the proceedings suspended for this reason” – we read.
At the same time, the entry into force of the Act would mean that no new court and administrative proceedings could be initiated. “It is therefore proposed that from the date of entry into force of this Act Other administrative and civil proceedings were not initiated regarding the determination of the amount of pension or survivors' pensions” – we read.
