A new mini -vacation awaits the Romanians in August, with the celebration of the Assumption of the Virgin. On Friday, August 15, 2025, it is declared a legal free day, according to the Labor Code, which means that the employees will enjoy three consecutive days: Friday (August 15), Saturday (16 August) and Sunday (August 17).
This mini -vacation in the middle of summer is one of the most anticipated breaks for employees, especially in the context of high temperatures and leave. Many Romanians are already planning their escapades in the mountains or sea, taking advantage of the opportunity offered by the extended weekend.
According to the legislation in force, the year 2025 includes a total of 17 legal free days, established by law for national and religious holidays. Of these, 13 are during the week, and 4 coincides with weekends, so it does not offer an additional benefit for employees who do not work on Saturday and Sunday.
