Police and prosecutors do, on Wednesday morning, searches in Bucharest and in three counties, in two suspected groups of human trafficking, pimping and money laundering. Judicial sources told News.ro that members of the piano and pig clans are targeted, some of them were found while playing Barbut. Groups are suspected that they have recruited the victims by the Loverboy method and forced them, by physical and mental constraint, to prostitute in more than ten countries.
“Today, July 30, 2025, the prosecutors within the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism Offenses-Central Structure, together with police officers from the General Police Directorate of Bucharest-Service of Violent Criminal Groups, have implemented 38 mandates of domicile searches on the municipality of Bucharest, The commission of the offenses to set up an organized criminal group, human trafficking, pimping and money laundering ”, DIICOT said on Wednesday.
The prosecutors specify that, during 2021, respectively 2023, several persons initiated and constituted, in the area of Bucharest and of Ilfov county, two organized crime groups, among which collaboration relations were established, in order to obtain substantial material benefits by sexual exploitation of several young people.
“At the two criminal groups, other suspects, mainly based on family relations, who had the role of coordinating the activity of prostitution by several female persons in the territory of different European states. Within both organized crime groups, created on pyramid structures, the suspects entered, through the lower, in the lower. The criminal activity, either by bank transfers, or by the purchase of high -value goods, respectively buildings, luxury cars, clothing and jewelry ”, shows DIICOT.
The evidence administered revealed that the victims were recruited by misleading and simulating feelings of love (Loverboy method), which created states of emotional dependence, after which they were transported and housed in different locations in Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Germany, Denmark, the United Kingdom of the Great Britain, the United Kingdom The Czech Republic, but also from Romania, where including by acts of psychic and physical constraint were determined to practice prostitution for the material benefit of the suspects.
“More than 30 warrants are implemented, and the hearings will take place at the DIICOT headquarters – the central structure,” said DIICOT.
The action benefits from the support of the police within the General Police Directorate of the Municipality of Bucharest-Police of Sectors 1-6, Police Brigade for Public Transport, Criminal Investigation Service, Criminal Service, Fighters of the Special Action Service and the Gendarmes of the General Directorate of Gendarmerie of the Municipality of Bucharest and the Mobile Group.
Judicial sources told News.ro that Pian and Purcel clans are targeted.
So far, investigators have managed to find part of the suspects, generally from the piano clan. Some of them played bearded when they were caught.
At the homes of the suspects, money, luxury cars and other samples have been found so far.
The judicial sources stated that the file was constituted ex officio, with no complaints of the victims.
