When will Vodafone and Telekom Mobile merge. Changes announced to customers

Vodafone announced on Wednesday that the merger with Telekom Romania Mobile Communications (formerly Cosmote), a company it acquired in October 2025, is set for June 30, 2026. Telekom Mobile will practically cease to exist as a separate legal entity, with all rights and obligations to be taken over by Vodafone.
Vodafone bought Telekom Mobile on 1 October 2025, at which point the phased integration of Telekom's operations, systems and network began.
“Customers will continue to benefit from the services they enjoy today, as well as access to a mobile network of the highest standards. At the same time, the interaction will become simpler, by consolidating the points of contact, including in stores, call centers and the digital environment”, Vodafone representatives say in a press release sent on Wednesday.
The company promises new infrastructure investments and better connectivity for customers through faster speeds and expanded coverage.
“The implementation of the merger with Telekom represents a significant moment for Vodafone and our long-term investment course in Romania. With the end of June 30, 2026, we enter a new stage in which we focus on network development, innovation and strengthening the interaction with our customers. We are building a unitary structure, prepared to offer the best possible experience and services at the highest standards, and we continue to integrate the operations, infrastructure and capabilities of the two companies,” he said Nedim Baytorun, CEO of Vodafone Romania.
