5 percent employed in the EU in 2024 worked as IT specialists, in Poland it was 4.5 percent. – Eurostat said.
In 2024, over 10 million people were employed as specialists in information and communication technologies (ICT) throughout the EU. This share increased by 0.2 percentage points compared to the previous year IO 1.6 percentage points from 2014.
Sweden recorded the highest participation of ICT specialists (8.6 percent), followed by Luxembourg (8.0 percent) and Finland (7.8 percent).

In 2024, women constituted 19.5 % of specialists in the field of ICT employed in the EU, while 80.5 % were men. The lowest percentage of women employed as specialists in the ICT field was recorded in the Czech Republic (13.0%), in Malta (14.7%) and Hungary (15.2%).
On the other hand, the highest percentage of women employed as specialists in the field of ICT was recorded in Estonia (27.6 %), Romania (27.3 %) and Bulgaria (27.0 %).
