The concert season lasts all year, but in summer popular festivals take place, which are organized in the open air. Events in such a formula depend primarily on the weather and although the rain is usually not afraid of party people, it may happen that the organizer will cancel or translate the concert. Participants have certain rights then, but if they do not reach their own fault, recovering money will be difficult. At Bankier.pl, we check what can be done in such a situation.
In the case of returning tickets purchased online, the provisions of the Consumer Rights Act are applied. For sports, entertainment and cultural events that have a marked day or period of service, we are not entitled to withdraw from the contract concluded at a distance, and therefore, as a rule, we cannot return tickets. This does not change the fact that the regulations of the sales platform and the event itself may provide for exceptions to this principle, but these are strictly defined.
Cancellation and postponement of the event by the Organizer
There are festivals for which tickets are made available well in advance and diverge in the blink of an eye. People who buy a party's ticket, especially in the open air, must be aware of the fact that the weather will thwart plans to the organizers who, for security reasons, will introduce changes to the event. In such situations, two scenarios are possible:
- Translating the event for another date or to another location – Tickets then remain valid, but the participant has the right to return themif he can't appear at the event.
- Cancellation of the event – The customer has the right to return funds According to the regulations of the website in which he made the purchase.

If there are changes in the date or place of the event, the participant will be informed about it by the organizer, but the rules for returning the funds will already be indicated by the ticket platform, through which we purchased tickets. Most often, the return takes place after prior notification by the Participant and is carried out by transfer, but depending on the website he can also have the form of a voucher. It is worth remembering that The ticket itself is refundable; Service and transaction fees, insurance, printout of the paper ticket are not returned.
Changing the sentence is not at stake
It may happen that after buying a ticket we will find that we will not be able to reach the event for various reasons, both organizational, logistics and personal. In such a situation, the return of the ticket and money is not possible, because we are not entitled to withdraw from the contract. Ticket websites also pay attention to this fact, encouraging thoughtful and prudent purchases, because by giving up participation in the event at which ticket prices are calculated in hundreds of zlotys, you can expose yourself to severe financial losses.
Problematic selling tickets
If it happens that we have a ticket, and despite our intentions we are not able to come to the concert, we can try to sell the ticket, but in practice such activity is quite problematic. The organizer may decide that the tickets will be named, and this form prevents them from transferring them to another person. On ticket platforms, sometimes there is also the option “Ticket Resale“, Allowing you to sell a ticket to other Website Users, but this possibility depends on the regulations of a specific event.
Ticket insurance for unforeseen situations
In random situations such as an accident, illness, delay, car failure, etc. Reception of tickets is not possible, but ticket services allow users to use ticket insurance against unforeseen events. Of course, this only applies to important, justified reasons, but such a policy is currently the only way to financial compensation in the event that we cannot participate in the event.
