The supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamena, said that his country “crushed” Israel in the 12 -day war.

In a video message published by the IRNA State Agency and taken over by foreign agencies, Khamenei claimed that the Iranian people “proved its dignity, special and extraordinary personality.”

The “Zionist regime” was “lowered and crushed”, said Ayatollah, who congratulated his compatriots, “the great Iranian nation”, “first for the victory over the Zionist regime”, and by a written message, broadcast by the official Irna agency, cites Agerpres.

The nuclear and military sites of Iran were hit by the Israeli aviation in the conflict triggered by Israel on June 13, in which several commanders from the peak of Iranian military power and more Iranian scientists in the nuclear field were lost. The United States, which hit the Iranian nuclear installations at the end of last week, also intervened on the side of Israel.

It is not clear in what state is the Iranian nuclear program after the blows suffered.

“The United States has not won anything”

The rockets and drones launched by Iran on the Israeli territory, in reaction, killed over 20 people, compared to about 600 in Iran – a number announced by the Tehran authorities.

Khamenei also communicated on Thursday that the US “did not win anything” from the attacks against Iran, although “intervened directly in the war”, the Americans being convinced that “their refusal to engage would lead to the total destruction of the Zionist regime.”

Ayatollah has warned in the television message that any future aggression against Iran will be paid expensive, and the ability of Tehran to hit important military bases is a considerable achievement. Such actions will take place again if the aggression is repeated, he threatened.

Khamena, 86, has not been seen in public since she took refuge in a secret bunker, when Israel has attacked Iranian nuclear installations and assassinated several military commanders and scientists.

The absence of the supreme leader in the public space has generated anxiety and fights between factions, wrote the American newspaper New York Times.
